Acknowledgements

An extraordinarily broad and complex work such as a National Red List under the IUCN criteria at the national level cannot be carried out without the participation and support of numerous entities and individuals. First of all, the specialists who participate with the assessments of the species homologated in the National Red List. Without their work, this list would not be possible. The taxonomic working groups of the Species Specialist Group of the IUCN Species Survival Commission coordinate and organize the assessment work in their respective taxa.

The people who make up the board of directors dedicate their time and skills to make this National Red List possible. Catherine Numa (Mediterranean Cooperation Centre) is key in the training and knowledge of the IUCN Red List standards by the assessors. Caroline Pollock advises and coordinates the work with the IUCN Red List from the IUCN Red List Unit. Sophie Ledger, Domitilla Raimondo, and Neil Cox have supported the development of this National Red List from the National Red Lists project.

The Tragsatec team made up of Ramón Martínez, Fernando Pomeda, Miguel Ángel Palma, and Eugenio de las Heras has supported various phases of the start of the national red list. Juan Matutano and Eduardo J. Rodríguez (SECEM), Lara Martínez, Juan Carlos García, and Celine García (Macaronesia Species Survival Centre of the SSC) and Rodrigo García have reviewed a considerable number of assessments for species homologation.

The Spanish Committee of the IUCN has funded through the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge the launch of this website.
